I think it’s unfortunately his reaction to all the personal attempts against him from the get go, and his common guy mentality with his business dealings. While I see this as a great negative in an American President, I think he feels that he is communicating with his MAGA supporters ( particularly laborers?) in a way they understand.

It seems deliberate when contrasted with the views of many that personally he is charming.

I don’t know how he, or anyone else, could be a unifier at this time in our history. My view is that we are very much in an ideological civil war now, the likes of which we haven’t seen before, with one side fundamentally opposed to many of our founding principles,
and the other desperately trying to hold onto the ones they like while ignoring others.
