Back to the cat/dog thing as being a digital matter, which I never understood. You are expected either to be a cat person or a dog person and, once that choice is made, you are then expected to love one and loathe the other. I don't know if its an American thing, but its dam silly if I'm honest.
Even though I say I don't like silly purse dogs, its more the people that have them I can't abide. Dressing them up, bringing them into stores and restaurants and on public transport, and don't get me started on the "emotional support animal" schtick so prominent with that crowd.
No, give me a big ol' happy dog any day, a working breed if it has to be a breed. I admit preferring they keep their bodily fluids to themselves, thank you. "Kisses" shouldn't mean washing up and doing laundry.
Still, its the people that ruin the dog, and the former are more my issue.
Deftly shifting the conversation, why are things so either/or in the modern world? Love one party, hate the other. Dogs and cats. Another I don't get is cars and motorcycles.
Again it might be a stupid American thing, but why are bikers so angry with the sportscar people, and vice-versa? That one baffles me. We're both lovers of machinery, one with our machinery, and are far beyond the mere possession of a vehicle merely as transport.
Like many of these pick-one-hate-the-other things, I'm sure it boils down to talking about the poseurs here, and God knows there are many many of them on both sides of the car/bike question, but the real enthusiasts should know better; I'd like to think most do.
I might be stereotyping from experience with poseurs. Lord knows the sportscar side of that equation is just full of them, cricket sweaters tied around their necks by the sleeves, sunglasses atop their heads even on cloudy day, "cha".
Grin!
