Another favorite is the period piece, They Were Expendable. People think of it as a Wayne movie, but for me it is a Robert Montgomery movie, a former naval officer and P. T. Boat commander. Similar to BoB, there’s an air of desperate times washing over it, something that often provides the backdrop for terrific movies.
My own thoughts on the web as a form of interactive communication is that it works poorly because of the faceless anonymity. If one faced a likely rap in the mouth for spewing the rubbish so commonly seen, I suspect there’d be a lot less of it.
