We believe that the force that we regard as being Dark gained the upper hand when in the first few aeons of the worlds maturation it produced voracious monsters that preyed upon each other and did little else of any use to the entity we call our world home.

However the nearer it is focussed toward our time, the better and more profuse the information displayed, so that we know how the world entity almost destroyed its dark protagonist when it dramatically altered its geographic and climactic features in order to encourage a new and much kindlier environment to encourage the race of hominids to develop from their mammalian forebears.

There is so much that we cannot and do not know about the way the earth developed from an infant to a child and part of that missing information concerns how these hominids became the separate races of the fey which include elves, dwarves and brownies but many others besides not all of them beneficent especially the several developing races of humans that became apex predators, fierce hunters which developed weapons to fight with and increase their strength to the point that they began to encroach upon we fey who had retreated to the forests and mountains.
Eventually the Light force gave rise to the Barrier and drove us over the marshlands towards Brythan before allowing the ice to melt and flood those low lying lands thus making Brythan into the island it is today.
