I used to be the heir to the Hilton fortunes, my family is very big in trading but somehow my father and mother fell afoul to the schemes of their guild chairman who coveted their wealth and connections.
Timmy then went on to explain to Liet how he had no inkling of these dark affairs but fortunately was eventually rescued from being captured and smuggled out of the citadel to a safe place in the country. Liet needed a lot of explanations to cover this synopsis of Timmys change in fortune because the elves knew very little about the Brythan that lay beyond their barrier. So it took several hours of lengthy discussions before the list keeper could feel he grasped the details of the young mans tale of adventure.
Now its my turn to enlighten you Timmy said Liet the next day when the two of them returned to the tower to consult the time window. Because until I could form a picture of how and where you lived, I could find no traces of your fey origins but now we can utilize a race that you may not have heard of, they are the brownies, creatures of the Light that are free to cross all boundaries and prefer to accompany humans like yourself and your family whose fey nature attracts them. They prefer to remain hidden and unseen and look after those households that attract them but woe betide those that discover them or even attempt to befriend them for to do so will make them foreswear their former benevolence and become imps or hobgoblins, mischievous creatures of the dark.
Liet turned to the controls that manipulated the time window and presently to Timmys astonishment he produced the moving image of a small humaniform creature that was sweeping up the ashes from a cold fireplace that Timmy instantly recognized as being one from his fathers former mansion. The elf and the brownie spoke at length to each other in a language Timmy could not discern except that it sounded like some pure form of music such as rippling streams and wind amidst treetops might produce. Fluid and natural it seemed to hypnotize him and he fell asleep whilst awaiting an explanation from the list keeper.
The next morning Liet summoned both Timmy and Garm to the tower to see and hear an explanation about all that the brownie had vouchsafed.
Your mother and father are alive and well or else the brownie would have deserted his post. he is awaiting their return and this is the tale he had to tell about what befell your parents. It was also he who contacted the driver whose cart smuggled you out of the citadel and he had been keeping an eye on you to steer you away from danger.
