No doubt there are many injuries in NFL games. The game is still super-violent, even after the many rules changes over the last five or so years as the vagaries of CTE have emerged. The average career of an NFL player is likely less than five years, and seeing the injuries some of them sustain, it's a wonder they last that long. Players are too big and too fast.
It's the same fan mentality that makes NASCAR popular - car crashes and gruesome injuries make for good TV.
