In a similar vein it's worth pointing out that a lot of AI isn't actually showing any intelligence at all. Rather it is collating information from human created work and passing it off as its own.

For example some of the forums I'm allied with have had to switch to member only status requiring a sign in to participate due the the sites being overloaded with "bots" attacking the site, harvesting the information and upon request, via the various online AI portals, passing off this information as something uniquely created by itself.

Just try typing into Google my forum tag along with something about my particular passion, the ZX81, and look at what AI response it gives. Namely a small swath of the content from two separate forums heavily bastardised as well as printing total untruths about myself and my standing in that community.

Take the following from Google's AI response when I put my forum name and ZX81 into the search engine

I'm not in any way shape or form a retro software developer, had nothing to do with the original creation of the titles mentioned in the picture (1980's for reference) and my only contribution was to add UDGs in 2017 to the work.

Wow just wow!

I won't go into the whys and wherefores about that last piece of crap except to say I know where Google's AI garnered it from and suffice to say, inaccurate doesn't cover it!

In conclusion whilst I did contribute in some small fashion to the listed works the way it has been presented by Goofle's (SIC) A(UN)I makes me look like some kind of genius whilst at the same time omitting the names of the original creators of said works which is inexcusable, the names of which I included when adding my own modifications to the works.


So in the great scheme of things this may not be of any great import but what if one where to make some kind of life changing decision based on some spurious clap trap uttered by this AI idiot?

You and I may be self aware enough to read between the lines but I fear for the upcoming generation who tend, I find, to be somewhat myopic when it comes to these things and who in my own forum life's experience are using AI to create "original" works of their own.

As a fellow musician no doubt you like I will pick up on certain elements within regarding its falseness but having played this piece to some of my more "green" associates not only did they think it a marvellous example of state-side R&R they were convinced they knew the identity of the band!!
