We used to have a bright bulb named Sunshine who measured intelligence by how much money a person earned. SES wrote the same, and others exist with this opinion.

Bezos and Zuckerberg et al proved they can earn lots of money. Trump proved he can inherit a fortune and lose it six times. I doubt he's a billionaire, but he claims otherwise. He claims lots of things.

Ever follow a Prime truck? More times than not, the drivers speed like they're driven on a mission. In town they run red lights and take all kinds of reckless driving practices in what seems to be a hurry to get their products delivered, or work done. I see this often enough to notice a consistent pattern. Do you think Amazon hires bad drivers, or perhaps they train drivers in a way to shave minutes off delivery time? At risk of public safety because they so often fudge on traffic rules and flow?

Those minutes saved across the country add up to many millions of dollars. Maybe more.

Do they set a beneficial example?

In my understanding, people who cut corners, cut corners, and are capable of production of shoddy work. Quality takes time

I am skeptical of billionaire altruism when they leave money making for public service. Nothing in their history remotely suggests they will be good leaders. In fact, more likely the opposite. They find corners to cut, and cut them. If public safety is compromised, then it is.
