As a Christian, I believe God is sovereign in the universe he created. Thus, I believe God either raises up leaders or allows us to raise them up into positions of power. When we raise up bad leaders, we are subject to whatever their leadership capabilities are able to implement during their tenure. Either way, there's a purpose in their leadership. Primarily to teach us about the importance of raising up good leadership. Mankind has an unfortunate history of raising up a lot of poor leadership. We never seem to learn.
