Amazing trip. Did Athens (the Parthenon of course) first and then got on a bus and went to Nauplion, Olympia, Delphi, Kalambaka and Meteora. Saw lots of archaeological ruins, the original Olympic stadium, monasteries, etc. Did a Greek cooking and dance class at one location. Opa! Then we went back to Athens and got on a ship and sailed the Greek isles and also a stop in Turkey... Mykonos, Ephesus, Patmos, Rhodes, Crete and finally Santorini. Had very good guides who gave us the history and mythologies along the way. Most amazing was how advanced the ancient civilizations were. Crete had the largest and oldest ancient civilization in Europe 4000 years ago, and very advanced for their times. They had flush toilets, water pipes, central heat, etc. Just amazing. I think it was Crete where I saw some political graffiti that said "Smash Zionism" "Free Palestine" and "Every Israeli Soldier is a War Criminal". There was a lot of graffiti in some of the larger cities, some of it very artistic. A great trip overall.
