if he even knows the difference between lies and truth anymore. I think many of his lies are or have been deliberate, as he sees them as a way to benefit himself. But I am really wondering about his mental state right now being even worse than usual. People with dementia often repeat things over and over and over, like he does with the references to his "cognitive tests" and such. He seems to be trying very hard to convince himself that he is not losing it.
