The committee too was loaded for bear. They had a lot of question for obvious non-lawful actions she was responsible for. Remember Bovino's paper bag with $50,000 in it? Dismissed without so much as a courtesy inquiry. No inquiry into the shooting deaths of both Renee Good and Alex Pretti. ICE activities that are breaking Constitutional Law especially in Minnesota. And, of course, the ever-popular Epstein Files where she has blatantly defied Congress by not releasing the files.
Her defiance, evasions, changes of topic, disrespect, and outright contempt for the committee, which translates to contempt for the country for which she supposedly serves, was all brought to bear for an audience of one. And she's been reading his playbook. In the face of an overwhelming and determined committee she held her own. But I'll bet the occasion was taxing. And I'd even bet there were a few high-balls consumed later that evening. Even for the deeply depraved, the deeply corrupt, this kind of event takes its toll.
While every committee member had their chance to hold her to account, it was Jaimie Raskin's commentary that brought home the scope of her egregious performance as the nation's top law enforcement officer. His was a withering litany of deliberate failures and flagrant violations to the Constitution.
