I'm all for representing the majority. But in a diverse country such as ours, the "majority" is made up of a lot of "minorities."
The majority should not trample on minorities, IMO. All should be treated as human beings... even if they are not American citizens. Even if they are not farmers, doctors, lawyers, nurses or teachers... Many who are not even citizens are law-abiding and have been working and paying taxes for many years, even if they or their parents came across the border illegally.
The issues are complex, with no easy answers, but I would rather believe that the 'majority' of human beings are capable of being fair and just and reasonable. That doesn't mean it will be easy to work through all the issues. It's much easier to get distracted, blame or 'hate' those who are 'different' IMO.
