I think that the vast majority can agree that men and women's sports should be separate, particularly if they are related to physical strength. But some people are not content to respect common sense rules or guidelines. Some have to take it to extremes, causing problems where there really needn't be... just to score some sort of political 'point.'

The men or 'trans' people in women's sports is a prime example. It seems simple enough. We make laws that draw the line at age 16 for driving a car or getting a license. Is that fair for everyone? No. Some mature sooner or later, or are more or less capable at any given age... but, there needs to be a line drawn somewhere to facilitate a system that works best for the majority.

But when you have those who, like trump, harp on one issue relentlessly that they know is an emotional hot button issue, and grossly lie and exaggerate while doing so... you know that they aren't seriously concerned about what is fair or just or solving any problems. They are more interested in creating problems and then capitalizing on them.

I recently heard on the news that they are bringing up the bathroom issue again, trying to legislate that people can only use a public restroom that aligns with their "birth gender." Now how in the world are they ever going to enforce such a law, and why would they even want to, unless there have been problems with cis-gender males assaulting females in restrooms? It just doesn't happen... rarely if ever. Just as late term abortions happen rarely if ever. Just as men playing on women's sports teams happens rarely if ever.

There are some things that just can't really be legislated. Abortion is one. Public restrooms is another. Driving age can be legislated, even if not fair to everyone. And men playing on women's sports teams can be legislated, even if not fair to everyone. A little common sense goes a long way.
