Funny story about the theme from Easy Rider by McGuinn. He said Fonda went to Dylan and wanted him to write it. Dylan didn't want to, but scribbled a note (the first verse) and gave it to Fonda, saying 'Here, give this to McGuinn, he'll know what to do.' This mystified McGuinn a bit, as he didn't consider himself a big songwriter, but he sure did do something with it!
Incidentally Dylan, who never considered himself the songwriter, refused credit and all royalties for it.
