I don't want to add to the drama. But the new officers were losing virtually all the congregation between messing with our music and messing with them. They were given something of a "come to Jesus" ultimatum, from which we're working things out. I believe they were told something like, "You have to be blooming idiots to throw away that kind of musical expertise." They're on vacay for two weeks while we try to put things back together and in order.

The tests indicate a stroke from the fall that led to an incurable palsy tremor. I feel it internally all the time. It doesn't affect movement and is only visible occasionally at night before I go to sleep. Not worried about it. It is what it is.

Sunday we have a guest pastor. He chose as topic the first five books of the OT, an overview. So I have a funny to begin the song service. I am taking the full scores to Der Ring des Nibelungen, a music comparison to the vast topic on which Ted plans to preach. I'm setting them up on the piano with book ends, and song service will begin with my pull out of Dar Rheingold, read and play the beginning from the orchestral score. I will announce we should be finished about 10am Monday morning, gesturing to the three remaining larger operas. Then, when it seems hopeless, I plan to stop and we'll change direction to sing three very familiar songs relative to the OT topic.

I made a vocal version of Schindler's List we will read today, and decide whether to include in this service, or save for another time. Ted's topic is profoundly vast and can't possibly be crammed or fitted into a single sermon. Sometime I'll tell you about my footnoted Hebrew OT.
