...nobody wants to bowl in a 35 week league anymore and bowling centers are very expensive to maintain. We quit many years ago and never looked back.

I sat at a table with some of the best known women bowlers of the day during one of my wife's tournaments. One lady who had made a million dollars bowling was talking about her future. She did not see a path to retirement because she had no other real skills other than bowling and she had not made enough bowling to support herself for decades nor is there a market for them to collect endorsement money. She sadly stated that she would most likely end up running a little bowling alley pro shop like most of her retired bowling friends.
