I bet it is much warmer where you are but our temps are supposed to climb - it is 40 right now.

Yes there are things to be done, but I am going to take my time doing them

Fubar needs to check on Johnny Angel, in my opinion. Not that Johnny cares what my opinion is - but this is a long time gone.

It's my kind of weather. Maybe Johnny went skiing in the mountains before old age sets in. He needs to come back, I'm getting tired of all these trophies. Be safe!

So I am certain that at least one Robin from last year has returned - the damn thing attacks its own reflection on everything - but primarily my bay window.

If you put a bowl of meal worms out there (out of reach of vermin) The robins will empty it pronto.

I have tried that before. But I don't like to set up a buffet for the hawks. I no longer put bird seed or anything in the feeders because, sure all the song birds stop by - but then those a-hole hawks start appearing. I do make sure there is always water, though.

Things are changing here rapidly - all us old-timers in the hood are discussing it. I am certainly ready for a change of location - at least now - but there is much to consider with that.

You need to start planning your trophy room... kinda like some bowlers I knew...

...Many years ago my wife and I participated in several bowling leagues. My wife was very good and became a professional for a while as well as winning several state championships, etc.

Anyway, we got a lot of trophies, pins, patches, and plaques which usually did not hang around long or were stashed away in the attic in a box. We visited another bowling couple one time and were amazed to find that they had converted their garage into a den/trophy room. They had shelves and shelves of old bowling league trophies. I guess I was a little less than impressed. I just considered it wasted space.

Guess I'm lucky since my trophies are virtual. Bowling is an expensive hobby.

Yeah, feeding the hawks isn't fun. Like I said, stay away from large construction sites. Lotsa huge areas will become manufacturing sites. In any event, good luck on your search.

...nobody wants to bowl in a 35 week league anymore and bowling centers are very expensive to maintain. We quit many years ago and never looked back.

I sat at a table with some of the best known women bowlers of the day during one of my wife's tournaments. One lady who had made a million dollars bowling was talking about her future. She did not see a path to retirement because she had no other real skills other than bowling and she had not made enough bowling to support herself for decades nor is there a market for them to collect endorsement money. She sadly stated that she would most likely end up running a little bowling alley pro shop like most of her retired bowling friends.

When I worked in town I use to eat a hamburger at the bowling alley. I find the background noise very relaxing.
