"We are very saddened to hear of the passing of Roland Beaney yesterday. Roland was a very popular man who has been involved with Radio Caroline since the 90s. During that time he has made a huge contribution to both the station and Ross Revenge.
Roland organised regular maintenance crews to look after and restore the ship over the years, he also ran the popular Southampton Support Group Meetings, which raised many thousands of pounds for the ship he loved so much. He organised awareness events at the Cotswold Motoring Museum and assisted with the distribution of various web shop items. Last year he and his wife Viviane sent out the Radio Caroline calendar, which was a huge task. More recently Roland and Viviane volunteered to send out the Crowdfunder Ross Revenge posters and were again planning to take on the task of distributing the 2024 calendar.
We will miss Roland, his boundless enthusiasm and good nature very much and our thoughts are with Viviane at this sad time."

R.I.P. Roland
Sad news I'm afraid - Roland, who was a great friend to Radio Caroline - running the Southampton group for just one thing, has passed away from a brain bleed yesterday - this was from Ray Robinson.
Sympathy goes to Roland's family & loved ones.
Yet another Free radio supporter gone.
RIP Chap
