Anyone who has spent a weekend, working on the Ross Revenge, with Roland, will have many tales to tell. His performance was always worthy of a saucy seaside postcard. His selection of music on a Saturday night in the mess room would invariably include many with double meanings. So many wonderful stories about a dedicated, warm, vegetarian, Gillingham FC supporter. We will undoubtedly hear him 'walking the deck' at night!
The Radio Caroline website now has a tribute to Roland Beaney and a message from his wife Viviane. ""As Roland had already booked the next Southampton support group meeting in Hamble Social Club for the 27th September we would like to use that evening as a celebration of his life, with "Caroline friends and family" and others from 7pm onwards."
Those wishing to attend are asked to register an interest in advance. Full information on the website.
