2.07 Thursday 10th August. looks like it's back to 4kW. Problem fixed?
Yes, glad your paying attention
I expect, Alan is already committed to other work this week. I wish another, larger Nautel TX, could be found - The small one, seems much more reliable. It behaved itself, pretty well through the Covid Pandemic - when access, could have been tricky.
Pat just mentioned on his show that they are hoping to get an engineer out on site to fix the issue ‘next week’.
That sounds like a similar fault to the previous one a few months ago, one of the RF output modules caused that one. At least it will not be freezing cold for Alan at Orford this time

"Oh dear, technical problems with 648 kHz , it's just gone off the air at 4.20 pm.
The transmitter has been causing interference all up the East coast from Ipswich to Southend on Sea and beyond."
Someone asked him what the problem was, replied at 1705:
"It was some kind of arching affecting the LF end of MW"
They were back on the air when he posted that presumably having switched to the 2.5kw Nautel. Speculation in the thread as to the technical nature of the problem.
"Friday 28th : We have reports of issues with our audio on the 648 transmissions and are investigating"
It looks to me from the signal strength, the Nautel is now being used, but on it's full power of 2.5kw.
