Thanks Ian, it's handy to get confirmation from Martin that, as I suspected, 32 was used as spares-only until the end, six and half years from when I was on board. From May 1964 to January 1966 37 performed better than 32 (source George Saunders). ![]() Hi Ian, I sent Martin Fisher a link to your post and he confirms there were indeed two 316C tx's onboard right up until the old lady went down. One, as you say, was a source of spares and sat just to the right of the stairs going down to the transmitter room. The other was in regular use until the end. Great post BTW. |
