It was in use until the end, which was just as well as the Henschel generator could only power a 10 kW transmitter, not the 50 kW I seem to remember. th even was in use regularly, some say also on the night the Mi Amigo went down. Previous Message

I sent Martin Fisher a link to your post and he confirms there were indeed two 316C tx's onboard right up until the old lady went down. One, as you say, was a source of spares and sat just to the right of the stairs going down to the transmitter room. The other was in regular use until the end.
