I think we probably are just old fashioned Freddie. If that's the case then I will wear the hat as I find the bad swearing in modern pop music very offensive and completely unnecessary. I know there were records back in the past that had the odd bad word in them but it was so unusual we can probably remember which ones they were. If I was running a top 40 radio station now it would be a nightmare editing out all the swear words risking the wrath of OFCOM if any get missed or finding clean versions if any exist. Even when the offensive words are edited out it's often very obvious in the context of the remaining lyrics what the word was so it's kind of pointless a lot of the time. Anyway, grumble over.
