If Tony Christie or Kylie Minogue were played then it only highlights a lack of understanding on the part of some presenters of what Caroline was about for most of its existence. Quality album music.
I tend to stick to the presenters that I know have that understanding.
From the 60’s The Who but not Frank Ifield, from the 70’s The Eagles but not Tony Christie, from the 80’s Roxy Music but not Kylie Minogue etc etc
The “music policy moaners” should not be appeased, they should retune. Previous Message
Nothing wrong with Kylie Minogue, a popular artist in her own right, the 3rd track from her enjoy yourself album is particularly good.
Radio Caroline seems to have gone through some form of cancel culture where they tipex over the periods when the station was almost popular.
Back in 1979 I recall hearing Farther abraham and the smurfs, Fiddlers dram daytrip to bangor and the floral dance being played along side the album tracks during the early evening on the english service.
In 1983 they played Tracey Ullman sunglasses and they dont know. along with moonlight shaddow by mike oldfield.
I would welcome a bit more variety, I may listen for longer, but the point I am trying to make is Caroline is unique in its musical format, but a little bit more consistency would not be a bad thing.
