Huey Newton was brave as hell..
I like him until the pressure from the gov't intelligence services made him a bit paranoid and understandably so, which led him to escape into drugs ( cocaine)...
I don't particularly like this image - too muscular, especially around the neck area..
..the sculptor, Dana King, is a mulatto married to a white guy, I think. Lawwd..
I need to double check this😮.
My only disagreement with the BPP is their emphasis on class over race, which has now proven to be misguided.
George Jackson was brilliant as hell but he too was misguided, to the point of ridiculing Black Nationalism or what became Afrocentrism. Big mistake!!
My favorite of all the Black revolutionaries & civil Rights activists of that time remains Stokely Carmichael. No one was braver, especially given some of the stuff he undertook while in Mississippi.
Kwame Ture died a true revolutionary. RIP
Bob Moses should also be rated very very high.
