On one hand is good that Tanzania elected its first "female" president although Samia Suluhu Hassan, assumed office in 2021, not recently, but her presidency has been a significant development.

I know Ethiopia and Liberia predates Tanzania in electing a female president. Also Namibia elected its first female president this year in March 2025(see article below).

And yes, Africa's problems with its leaders has not changed. Africa's leaders prioritize personal gain over national development. These native leaders will always make sure Africa remains rich for the West and poor for Africans, their own peeps. They would kill, jail, beat anyone who tries to change this old tradition.
