Yep, Trump's desire to compensate the Jan. 6 crowd doesn't pass the smell test, not even the smell test of his sycophants in Congress. The revolt is starting. I laughed when i heard him claim Biden weaponized the Justice Department.

Right-thinking Republicans are rebelling against Trump’s Democracy-busting $1.8 billion slush fund. He knifed Ukraine in the back, saying they started the war with Russia. He has turned our NATO allies into adversaries. He has imprisoned Venezuela’s sovereign leader, Nickolas Maduro and his wife. He has undermined the military and fired its top brass. He has gutted America’s administrative state. He has spiked inflation. He’s given Russia a back channel for oil revenue.
But now he’s about to go the way of his mentor Joseph McCarthy. The push back on the money that would instantly fund his militia, of Jan. 6-pardoned goons is the last straw. And GOP congressmen realize they are not safe either with the narcissist, who has proclaimed himself king, while backstabbing his closest miscreants.
The writing is on the wall. They see they are expendable at any turn. And most of all, they know that history, and their progeny, will look upon them unfavorably when American Democracy stood at its critical cross road.
