The 14th Amendment was originally enacted during Reconstruction to secure citizenship and equal legal rights for all persons born or naturalized in the United States — including formerly enslaved African Americans — but its text is broader than “for slaves” and has been interpreted and applied to many other groups over time.
The oppressed becoming oppressors is an interesting topic that you have brought up here countless times, ad nauseum.
There is a pathological answer to the question: Why do the oppressed often become oppressors? Trauma creates this phenomenon. It is not unlike the trauma that abused children perpetuate.
Countless studies show that the abuse is passed on for many generations. It is the gift that keeps giving.
The oppressed should not receive extra blame for oppressing. It is trauma transference, which is a normal reaction for individuals and groups that are victims. If you want to play the blame game, point fingers at the insane system that divides us and creates oppression.
Let's spend our time fighting the system that creates it and educating people on the importance of solidarity.

True, on his first day of his second term in January 2025, Trump signed an executive order aimed at denying automatic citizenship to children born on U.S. soil if their parents were "undocumented" or on "temporary visas".
However I remember the bastard stating that the original intent of the 14th Amendment was solely to guarantee citizenship to formerly enslaved Black Americans after the Civil War. He really got me deeply thinking on this one although I don't like him. I mean why would Latinos, Asians, or Arab-Americans who "some", "many", or "most of them"(not sure) have a racial beef with AAs in the United State today profit from the 14th Amendment when NONE OF THEM WAS THERE IN 1868 but the Blacks and Whites?? OOooh, maybe there were about 2 latinos and 2 Arabs and 2 Asians in the U.S back then in 1868 LOL!!.
And like I've said, most of the Latino and Arab immigrants who settled in the U.S came from an oppressor "ethnicity" of these third world countries,... and most White Westerners unfortunately(and you are one of them) don't pay attention at all to this social attitude part of the newly arrived immigrants they have in the country, because all they see is crowds of immigrants trying to make a better life in America, thats all. But what White ppl fail to see or take into consideration with these new immigrants is the fact that they might be racists in their own Latino and Arab countries where they use to own Black slaves, marginalize them and call them names, and that they perhaps bring that garbage with them to America. Then all of sudden they wanna take an advantage of the 14th amendment forgetting or not knowing that they're putting themselves in the shoes of black American slaves. Hahahaha!! Very amazing!! I mean if you don't like Black ppl then to hell with their 14th amendment, its theirs, why grab it?
