I've always thought jealousy stems from insecurity.

Perhaps when children are taught to be a victim as opposed to teaching a child coping skills and to be independent...they mature into 'jealous' or resentful adults. There is a lack of self-confidence in one's ability to attain that which one wants. Which may, or may not, result in dreadful choices - for instance, to harm or destroy that which one feels jealous of.

What I find disgusting about the democrat party at the moment is they cannot decide if they want to teach victimization based on identity politics - or if they want to focus on the victimization of the have nots.
