Let’s hope you get somebody sensible who cancels it! It is the most annoying thing when we’re just doing ordinary things, in fact a good deed on your part.
At least you’re not in London. My daughter lives in Lewisham and I’ve had a couple of tickets outside her house, one because I put LTT instead of LLT for the reg in the app. There’s just no leeway.
On a happier note, during covid I was stressed, needing the loo on way back from London, near Dorking. I shouted at them in the garden centre for closing the toilets. I drove into Dorking remembering there were toilets by the car park.
Still stressed I was trying to get my daughter’s little dog to come with me and then I saw the parking attendant coming towards me. I started apologising and he held his hand up calmly and said “ Don’t worry, just do what you need to do. This is not London” He was so lovely.
The stress just drained away and all was ok again. I remember him often. I was so grateful.
