Always makes me smile: the area between the Fever Hospital (M) and the Lakes (I & K) are covered with allotments.
These must have been cleared in the late 40's-early 50's to make way for Johnston Ave, Toner Ave, Queens Crescent, Dukes Avenue etc.
So after everyone had "Dug for Victory" during the War, were they offered alternative allotments?
Or were the large gardens enough not to need an allotment?
