I was describing to my grand children how when I was young and were going to Newcastle on the train we bought the ticket in the office & sat in the waiting room until the train arrived. There was a big roaring coal fire keeping people warm unlike these days where your ticket comes from a Ticket machine & you stand on the platform awaiting the Metro. I told them our electric trains were just as good as the modern metro trains. Am I right?
