I never knew either of my Grandfathers, I have mentioned George Hardy above but never knew my paternal grandfather either, I knew he was a Painter and the following is so special, when I worked at Hawthorne Leslies I often had to go into the Paint Shop to request work to be done, every time I went in I used to admire a beam where a poem was written in wonderful script, years later I was talking to my Daughter in Laws father who had also been a painter and happened to mention this, he went quiet and said, “Do you know who did that “ obviously not, he told me it had been done by my grandfather and I never knew until that time ,
