Found some very useful information, George Hardy was our Great Grandfather and Station Master at Hebburn, he later become overseer of poor rates for Hebburn and Monkton, he was also a Freemason and founder of Thee Perseverance Lodge and became Grand Master, it appears he was active in many other organisations in the town, pity I never knew him but regularly visit his grave in Hebburn . Our Grandfather, who I never knew or met was Anthony Williams Hardy who apparently is buried in the same grave as Great Grandfather George
