Why they appear to be too fresh to have walked very far. Are they actually leaving Harrogate.
The sun is off to their right which fits entering Harrogate from the North but there are no housing like those in the background unless you divert off the say the Ripon Road. Is it leaving Harrogate going South no Sun in wrong direction.
They had 2 rest days in Ripon before going to Harrogate then on to Leeds. Ripon to Harrogate 11 miles.
A bit of a puzzle to solve, that could take a while.
Just found that they got to Boroughbridge then 15.5 miles to Harrogate, so did they go to Ripon? Conflicting Routes!
If I was in Boroughbridge and going to Harrogate I would go through Knaresborough and then Harrogate..
That would fit with the housing in the photo, Knaresborough Road.
