Dead right Neil. When I was with the Hartlepool Enterprise team we used to ask doners to make cheques out to the station and not the office. A lot of our money came from old ladies, quite often standing in pouring rain or inside the foyer of supermarkets freezing to death. We had our own bank account so only the station got what we collected. We found the RNLI goods were too dear. I am glad I left but still remember things like Pride of Britain when the crew waded into quicksand to save a young lad up to his neck nearly.. The fire service blasted the sand away from their feet, saving all 2013 I think? Great men but let down badly by greed and a horrible Prime Minister...
