I'm quiet surprised at those speeds, considering the technology of the bikes back then! Or lack of... NO carbon fibre etc!
Those lads must have been as fit as a butchers dog!
So the question has to be: If they can cover the distance between Newcastle & Edinburg in maybe 12-14 hours...why did they set off at midnight?
