I was wrong. It was not the Wesleyan which became a Community Centre but the old Primitive Methodist Chapel on the corner of Edgar St and Ellison St pictured here

The Primitive was on the left by the Edgar St junction (long gone). The two spires belong on the right to the Presbyterian and the left Christ Church. The Ben Lomond is in the centre background.

Ald G A Rose was my Great Uncle George. When the hall was named after him in 1953 I was just 9 so I can be forgiven, I hope, for my lapse of memory?
