I remember that view very well! just yards behind the cameraman was the 'Regal cinema (that we called 'The pictures'). In Hebburn we only had the 'Gem' after the Theatre burned down 1950 so we'd go to Jarrow Pictures as they had the 'Regal' the 'Picture House' & 'The Empire'. Then in 1955 Hebburn's new 'Rex' cinema opened and that was the Dawes brothers replacement for their burned down Theatre.
