The last time I posted about the NHS and wastage of money I was told not to knock the establishment. Well I'm sorry but this it's getting knocked well and truly. I had an appointment at 9.20am at Cleadon Park, got there for 8.55am after paying £16.20 for a taxi. Checked in at reception only to be told that the appointment had been cancelled and re-booked for June 17. When I said that I had not been informed about the cancellation, the receptionist said that I had, by the way they have a landline and mobile phone number. When I got home at 10am, guess what, 2 letters from the NHS dated 20th May, 1 cancelling the appointment for today and the other on for the new date next month. My annoyance is why leave it so late, did they not consider the BANK HOLIDAY for posting, and lastly why send 2 separate letters. Like I said in my last post no wonder the NHS has no money.

Have been lucky a letter a text and a automated phone call.This is for my eye jab at Hospital tomorrow .Awful what you have been through .

That's disgraceful Thomas.
For all they know that could be all your money for the week gone on a Taxi Fare & of course you had to pay to get back to Hebburn ontop of that..

I had an eye appointment booked for 10am on the 12th May, my husband was taking me by car, we were just leaving our house at 9:30 when my mobile phone rang, lucky to get a signal, anyway it was some receptionist advising that the appointment was cancelled due to staff sickness. I have to say I was a bit annoyed as like you Thomas, if my husband had not been taking me I would have had to take a taxi at a cost of £26 one way, and at that time I would have been in my way to the appointment, I had been told not to drive, I realise that I should be thankful that I received the phone call but felt it was left a bit late.

Eunice had an appointment at South Shields after waiting two months. We parked car and signed in then waited 10 minutes before being told all appointments were cancelled. Had to pay for parking and then wait for another appointment.

That is the NHS greatest problem. Inefficiency plus incompetence and not using properly joined up systems.
Here in Derbyshire I get all my appointments cancellations etc by email and text. But they still send me letters which obviously arrive way after the texts and the letters are costly and unnecessary.
Its 2025 NHS !!!!

As most of us know the NHS has a Hebburn lad at the helm now, just hope he is aware of the magnitude of the issues he needs to improve on. I'm not holding my breath.
