Patriotic Pelaw

What’s going on in Pelaw?

I drove through Pelaw yesterday and every lamp-post from the Metro Station to Lidl’s Supermarket has either a Union flag or a St. George flag flying from it. Both sides of the road.
The flags were all pretty high up on the posts, so some additional help was used to get them up there.

Can anyone from Pelaw tell me what is going on?

Just a guess, is it not local people sticking to fingers up at the powers that be, because one thing they don't like is anyone showing any form of patriotism, (just a guess).

Just a guess, but it's happening all over the country, particularly where illegal immigrants are being housed...

I think the government trying to keep it all a secret is what is annoying everyone. HMO’s are springing up all over the country . There was a BBC guy interviewing a man living in Warrington. The houses look like nice Edwardian or Victorian Villa's. He said his neighbours house last housed a family and it is now a HMO, then he pointed at others changing to HMOs. I don’t think it will be cheaper than Hotels. We should be careful what we wish for. They have doctor’s to visit them. The doctors must do this, or they will loose they funding.

Not just Pelaw , Llyn. Finchale Road in Hebburn had flags flying from The Elmfield up to the car wash on Mill Lane, with the white sections on zebra crossing painted with Red crosses to emulate St Georges Flag. That was a couple of weeks ago though.

I asked a friend of mine who lives in Bill Quay what was happening in Pelaw, she tells me the answer is the good people of Pelaw, like most of the country, are totally fed up with the way the country is going so they wanted to be Patriotic, that is the reason the flags are flying, this type of Patriotism will continue as more and more people get fed up.

Lian, unfortunately my friend hasn’t been able to find an answer for you, people she has spoken to have not been able to help, the people of Pelaw are extremely proud of the display, this is just one of many examples of people showing Patriotism and about time to, good on them.
