Please can you sign this Petition

I was brought up in South Parade, Bill Quay, it is a small street with young families living there, I have just been told that one of the small houses has been bought and will be turned into an HMO with 6 bedrooms. As you can imagine the families living in South Parade are not happy, they are very concerned as to who will be dumped at their doors, families with young children are very worried, I would be obliged if you can sign the petition.

Don't forget we have a lot of Reform Councillors now so find their email addresses and ask them to stop housing these invaders flooding into our Towns.

Before the council elections, in one of the Reform Party political party promos, Farage tried to put the frighteners if people voted for the Greens, they would allow HMOs. If they voted for Reform, they wouldn't allow any new ones.
Gateshead (Bill Quay) is a Reform Council.
So according to Farage, they won't allow it . . . .
The Reform flier I got through the door didn't mention anything about my local council (South Tyneside). Basically all it said was 'Get Starmer Out).

These HMO’s seem to be plonked in places without any thought as to how the occupants will integrate. If you take South Parade, this is a small street on one side there are 3 semi detached properties housing 6 families, my parents moved into one of these properties in 1951, my mum lived there until her death in 2020, she was the longest resident ever of SP, the properties are now occupied by 5 British families and a Polish family.

The other side of the street is terraced, these properties used to be 2 up 2 down flats, some of these terraced properties have been converted into terraced houses, I would say there must be about 14 properties on that side of the street occupied by families, it is one of these properties that is going to be converted into an HMO with 6 bedrooms.

The residents of SP are all up in arms about this Development, it is a small street that goes nowhere, they were never consulted about anything, which means that even before the 6 occupiers of the HMO arrive there is hostility which obviously means trouble. There are young families whose children play either in their gardens or in the backyards, the parents don’t want 6 migrants dumped in this small street, they are fearful of what will happen. Perhaps if the residents of SP had been consulted about possible occupants of the HMO, maybe a talk about how things will be managed might have helped matters but this has not happened, where will this situation end, hopefully not in violence but who knows?

It appears that HMO’s spring up all over the place with no consultation whatsoever no wonder residents get very angry.

Why has no councilor made a reply to this post? The power in Gateshead has shifted to Reform. I realise the planning for this proposal was made under those previously in power, but now is a good time for the new council to demonstrate that for which they were elected.

George, this Petition was started by Cllr Sharon Potts, a Labour Councillor, I have tried a few times to send her an email but using the email address provided it just bounces back. I will make contact with people I know who still live in SP and ask them if they have made contact with any Reform Councillors.

Liz, thank you for your reply.
I also have a problem with communications in this matter. When attempting to sign the petition, I am asked to prove I am not a robot. As the pictures used to determine this are unclear in the extreme, I fail this test repeatedly and cannot complete the document. After a few attempts, I gave up. Perhaps I have a problem of which I was not previously aware

However, others may have encountered similar difficulties and the petition is losing out in its quest for signatures. Just a thought.

Hello George, firstly you did manage to sign the Petition your name is showing as a person who has signed.

Apparently the residents of SP are in contact with Reform councillors so hopefully something positive might happen.
