They are taking the wrong people, including people going to court to do THE RIGHT THING. They are NOT focusing on getting the bad guys first. Studies show that 65% of those taken into ICE custody have no criminal convictions. Furthermore, over 93% of those with criminal convictions do not have violent offenses
I get it. There's a problem here to be solved including overhauling the immigration system. There is a significant backlog:
Immigration Courts: There are currently 3.7 million cases pending in U.S. immigration courts
Asylum Applications: As of December 31, 2024, there are over 1.4 million affirmative asylum applications pending with USCIS.
Processing Backlogs: Beyond the court system, USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) also faces a significant backlog in processing other applications and forms.
