As long as many Muslim societies continue to embrace fundamentalism (and the resulting misogyny, homophobia, and stubborn refusal to compromise or assimilate), then I can only hope for the religion's demise. Islam desperately needs its Enlightenment. Failing that, it is incompatible with the modern world and this will eventually lead to broad violent conflict.
