with the modern world and more modern thinkers push hard for change. There will be those on-the-fringe fundamentalists too but they will be in the minority. I doubt Islam will totally die off though. If it does disappear, it won't be for a long time. Bad ideas and practices (homophobia, misogyny) seem to stubbornly persist.

Even if Islam eventually disappears, an idea can not be killed, even when it should. Look at WW II, the Nazis, etc. - the world knows the horrors of that story but we still have white supremacists and Neo-Nazis. Though not the majority of people (thankfully) I don't get how anyone can still sign on to that trash, but they do.

But then again, I don't understand a lot of what goes on these days.
