I had a bad respiratory bug in April. Virus test was negative, chest x-ray showed no pneumonia but
did show some scarring in my lungs. They gave me prednisone (5 day course) and my lungs are better than they were just before I got sick. Like, I haven't been able to breathe this well in maybe two years. Now I'm wondering if I had some lung damage many months ago. I was having a hard time breathing when exercising or even going up several flights of stairs at a time - to the point of coughing - even when I wasn't "sick". Then I got sick and was still not better after 4 weeks so finally went in to the doctor. Just crazy. Since then, I've been able to up my exercise game with running/biking and lifting. I used to get winded on my regular weekend 3 mile walk when going uphill and I don't now. Crazy what drugs can do to you. Previous Message Now that I'm generally better and just got past an almost all-encompassing wedding & preparations last Saturday, ready to get back to work. Edit: Still with a lot of manual yard work, I dropped 7-8 pounds. Sucks because I got sick, I was "running" again with some consistency for the first time in a few years and making some advances. (If you can call it running, maybe fore of a trot.) Also planning on hiking at altitude in a couple of months carrying a daypack, so need to get my legs and cardio back. Previous Message I've got like 7 lbs to go to my body weight goal. Now at 15% body fat. Went from XXL to M t-shirts, 52 to 42 jacket size, 40+ down to 34 pants. Can finally run (not fast) again without dropping to a walk. Still going because I want to lose this little pouch at the bottom of my stomach, but it's shrinking day by day. Never again.
