He's interested in computer science which is saddled with the engineering department. We were placed into an auditorium and lectured on how UI is #2 or #3 in the country for that program depending on MITs standing.
They also went on to say that only about 1-2% in the room would be accepted into the program. While this may be true, it seemed very elitist.
The speaker then discussed how the kids could try to go other routes and get into other programs (LAS, etc) that have computer science programs in a hope to transfer over to engineering. Previous Message
God it’s a pain in the butt. Hopefully he’ll get into Illinois. He’s in Grainger’s middle 50% but it’s a huge crapshoot as far as I can tell.
