Having never been over there, what's your thoughts on renting a car?*

We did two weeks, 1 in London (with a trip out to Stonehenge and Windsor Castle) and 1 in Paris (with trips out to Versailles and Disneyland Paris). I was fluent in French in high school and studied up, so I could get by. But while we were in Paris, both my wife and kids would feel some anxiety about a language barrier (surprising because all are adventurous).
Our second European trip was fine because they had done it before.
Honestly, London/Paris as a first trip is a pretty spectacular way to do Europe for the first time. Westminster Abbey and Tower of London can satisfy the "want to see castles" itch.
