You made the right choice for you at the time. That's all you can do.
What happened to her really sucks, and all your feelings are legit, but hopefully any guilt passes quickly . You have to take care of yourself before you can take care of anyone else..and at the time you did what you had to do for you. The road she took from there wasn't on you.
